Collection: Featured Artworks - 'It's A Bug's Life' by Sandra Fowler

Sandra Fowler is an Australian artist whose creative journey mirrors the evolution of her work. Growing up on Sydney’s northern beaches, she developed a love for hands-on art early on. After completing her schooling and a TAFE qualification in childcare, she spent her twenties and early thirties traveling, creating, and exploring various countries.
After her travels, Sandra met her husband. Starting a family led her to seek a personal creative outlet, with art becoming her escape and way to reconnect with herself beyond motherhood. Though her practice is eclectic, Sandra always returns to watercolours, macrame, and polymer clay.
Her watercolours evolved from dot doodling to playful compositions, shaped by curiosity and experimentation. Sandra’s work is a reflection of creativity as both a personal outlet and a means of discovery, capturing her journey of self-expression and connection to true herself.
